FOUNDER'S AWARD

Eligibility
A member of the Southern Society for Pediatric Research (SSPR) who has made significant contributions to both the health care of children and the activities of the SSPR.
  Nominations are solicited from the membership of the SSPR.   

Procedure
The sponsor for the nominee shall send a letter of approximately 500 words indicating the nominee’s area of research and accomplishments.
  In addition, letters of support from two additional colleagues, a curriculum vitae, and three to five reprints of the nominee’s most important work will be required.  The letter of nomination and the two support letters must come from active members of the SSPR. 
Letters of nomination should be sent to the SSPR President-Elect.
 

Criteria for Evaluation
A committee will evaluate the nominees based on their contributions both to the health care of children and the activities of the SSPR.
   
 

Awards
The winner of the Founders Award will receive a plaque and a check for $500.
  The winner will be expected to present a summary of this work at the Plenary Session of the SSPR.  The award is made possible by a grant from Ross Laboratories.  The award will be presented at the Plenary Session of the SSPR.
